Pictures of our little sweetie

Only two more weeks of keeping Grace at home! After that, we'll still have to be careful about having her in crowds and around sick people, but at least I can take her to the grocery store. After over three months of staying at home, that sounds like a dream come true.

Grace has had some really good nights this past week, and some not so good ones. We're still weaning her off of her medication, so it may be awhile before her sleep regulates for good.

Here are some recent pictures of our little darling. She turned 8 months old this past week.

  2. Dear Derek and Michelle,

Through the grace of God I found your blog today. Our five month-old daughter Sophie was diagnosed today with infantile spasms (cryptogenic so far, like Grace). My husband, Chris, and I have the monumental task of choosing between the ACTH therapy or Sabril. Did you have that option?

Tonight, Grace will be added to my prayers. Thank you for sharing your journey through this challenging time.

  4. Molly,

Just read your message. We understand the magnitude of your decision and the fear and anxiety that can accompany it. We also know that the Lord will direct you as you seek Him earnestly. We encourage prayer and fasting for this decision. We were deciding between Vigabatrin and ACTH and went with the ACTH. As you will read from the blog the Lord used the ACTH to help heal Grace and she never experienced any of the dangerous side effects. She is seizure-free and her EEG is completely normal. We recently weaned her completely off of the Clonazepam so she's trying to learn how to sleep well without any aid.

Let's stay in touch so we can support you during this journey. We know there are rough times ahead for you, but we also know the peace, grace and love that the Lord can give you during this time. We will praying hard for Sophie and for you and Chris! We understand the pain, uncertainty and grief you are experiencing at this time.

    Love in Christ,

    Derek and Michelle
